Project Description

Really Rubbish Campaign

The brief

In 2005, we were appointed by The City of Cardiff Council’s Waste Management team to establish an educational and environmental waste minimisation campaign aimed at all primary and secondary schools throughout Cardiff.

Our approach

To meet this objective we created the Really Rubbish Campaign, a dynamic initiative created in conjunction with teachers, with the aim of establishing a sustainable and environmental awareness initiative integral to Cardiff’s education system.

In ten action-packed years, this award-winning initiative has so far delivered its combination of entertainment and educational resources to over 150,000 primary and secondary pupils across the Welsh capital.

We handle all PR and marketing for the campaign including quarterly newsletters, social media, running competitions in all schools each year as well as organising the Really Rubbish Exhibition and Award Show to reward the pupils and teachers for their hard work.

We have been working closely with the council to deliver the campaign, which is being hailed as one of the leading programmes of its kind in the UK.
