50 Jobs Created by Expanding Welsh Care Home Group

Silvercrest Group, the Welsh-owned private care home operator, has announced expansion plans starting with the opening of a new home which will bring 50 new jobs to Rhondda Cynon Taf this Autumn with a £1 million investment.

Established in 2014 by Dr Bikram Choudhary, Silvercrest already operates homes across South Wales, from Pontypridd to the Swansea Valley.

Its latest addition will be the 33 bed Ty Nant care home in Williamstown with the Group now recruiting for nurses, carers and admin staff.

Dr Choudhary, Chief Executive of Silvercrest said: “Our aim is to become the premier provider of elderly care services in Wales. We are investing £1 million in a new bespoke dementia care facility at Ty Nant, which will provide a much needed service in RCT and Taff Ely.

As a fiercely proud Welsh group, our passion is to develop and expand good quality care homes that are friendly and professional. Each of our homes plays an active part in the community it serves, which is why we are delighted to be bringing new jobs to Rhondda Cynon Taf.”

A former co-founder and director of Hallmark, the Essex based UK care home operator, Dr Choudhary has been involved in the sector since 1992, and is also a practising GP, based in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

As well as Ystrad Pentre, Silvercrest Group operates care homes at Morgana Court in Bridgend, Cwrt Enfys in Ystradgynlais and The Hollies in Pontypridd.
